LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - The premiere of "My Big Fat Greek Life" was an unqualified success for CBS. Now, if it can just keep that momentum when it moves to Sunday nights. Nearly 23 million people watched Monday's (Feb. 24) premiere of the show, a continuation of the story from the hit movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." It was the most-watched comedy premiere in more than four years on any of the networks, going back to the debut of "Jesse" on NBC in September 1998. The show also performed solidly among adults 18-49, scoring a 7.4 rating in the demographic group advertisers love. It finished second in its half-hour to FOX's "Joe Millionaire: The Aftermath" special. "Greek Life" also pulled the rare feat of building on the audience for "Everybody Loves Raymond," which drew 22 million viewers Monday. Since "Raymond" moved to 9 p.m. ET Mondays in September 1998, no other sitcom has improved on its numbers, either in total viewers or adults 18-49. (It has happened a handful of times when CBS aired back-to-back episodes of "Raymond." ) A bigger test for "Greek Life's" staying power will come Sunday (March 2), when it settles into its regular timeslot of 8 p.m. ET. The previous occupant, "Becker," has averaged 11.3 million viewers there this season and is moving back a half-hour to accommodate the new show. |

That's great news! I hope that it does as good on Sundays as it did this past Monday because I really liked the show and think it's a lot better than was most of the networks have on now.
