Often on the series, the show would go into the past. Which time period do you think was the best?

Choices:
1795/6
1897
1840

and the 'one (or two) episode wonders'
1949
1692
1995

I really enjoyed 1795, seeing all of the characters that had been spoken about so much--Josette, Sarah, Naomi, and the others. It had a really good plot with some of the best actors that the series had. Though the Vicki-and-Peter-in-love thing got old fast (Mostly cause Peter's played by Roger Davis, lol) it was still good at that point. I love the character of Millicent because of her craziness--Nancy Barrett did a good job playing a character that was completely different from her present time one.

I've never seen 1897, nor have I seen 1949, 1692, oe 1995. But I've seen around 7 episodes of 1840 and it's really good. The plot for it was very good and it kept you guessing at times.

I like the one when Quentin enters the fold. When he goes back in time (Maybe 1840).

The 1897 storyline was long, but fascinating. But a lot of time just to save David lol!

I like 1897 mainly because of Quentin. David Selby was a great addition to the cast.

Yes. It is very good. I can't wait till Sunday night to watch 6 episodes of 1795 episodes.

1897 is very good but I think it went on a little too long. I like the time travel elements however after a while I miss the present day Collins.

Yeah. And for instance now is 1795 on METV + which is great, but 1968 when Vicki goes back, I'm looking forward to seeing the late 60's fashions as opposed to mid 60's when DS started. Dark Shadows really captured mid 60's - early 70's fashion. Like Carolyn going from the flip hairstyle to straight hair. Maggie's hair changed too. The dresses went shorter. Men's hair longer.

Willbo, I have a question for you? You don't have to give your exact age, I'm not that nosey , LOL. But are you an old timer like Stevea, Thislittlepiggy and myself, who watched as youngsters first run? Or are you younger and got into DS later on?

Lol. I am 63 and did watch live the last couple of years. I started watching for the "first" time in years about 12 years ago. Started with Barnabas and watched until the end.

Then I started watching the beginning episodes and liked them. There were questions I had that got answered by watching those episodes. I have continued watching once those were finished and am up to the end of Adam.
My wife hates the show but she did not watch it as a child. I watch sporadically now.

I did watch a lot of the originals, but not the whole series.

When I watched the episodes on SciFi when they had it (I taped it and watched after work), it was my first time seeing the whole series.

My brother is worse than me as he has watched the whole series multiple times. I can remember most of the neighborhood kids would come to our house to watch after school (yes, we ran home). We had the board games too BITD. My wife bought me both board games as an adult. We were all obsessed for a while but with only 3 stations there was not much on tv in those days. We were all so sad when it was cancelled.
