Talking baby sitcoms feature infants or toddlers with adult-level thoughts or speech, often using voiceovers or special effects to depict their inner monologue.
Sitcoms Featuring Talking Babies ![]() Happy (NBC, 1960–1961) Live-action sitcom starring a suburban couple and their baby named Happy. The baby’s thoughts are heard via voiceover narration to the audience. Early example of the “baby with adult commentary” trope. Short-lived but historically important. ![]() Baby Talk (ABC, 1991–1992) Live-action sitcom, based on Look Who's Talking. The baby narrates and reacts to adult situations through voiceover. Very direct descendant of Happy's concept. ![]() Dinosaurs (ABC, 1991–1994) Live-action (animatronic) family sitcom. The Baby Sinclair talks constantly (“Not the mama!”). Although the cast are dinosaurs, the format and tone are straight sitcom. ![]() Baby Bob (CBS, 2002-2003) Live-action sitcom with a CGI-enhanced baby mouth. The baby speaks directly (to the audience) with sarcastic, adult humor. Probably the most explicit “talking baby sitcom” ever made. ![]() Family Guy (Fox, 1999-present) Animated sitcom. Stewie Griffin is a fully articulate baby and a core character. Adults mostly ignore or misunderstand him, but structurally it’s still a sitcom. What's your favorite talking baby sitcom? Do you know of any other examples? |

The "Happy" sitcom is rumored to be coming to DVD. I believe the releasing studio is rumored to be MPI, the same studio that just put The Bill Dana Show on DVD. Still just a rumor at this point, no official word yet about Happy.
