THE FAMILY OF RECENT WIDOWER JOE BINDER REALIZES THE SACRIFICES IN STORE WHEN DAUGHTER JOANIE IS ADMITTED TO AN IVY LEAGUE COLLEGE, AS DANIEL STERN AND JUDD HIRSCH STAR IN THE SERIES PREMIERE OF ABC'S MIDSEASON COMEDY, "REGULAR JOE"
PREMIERE Daniel Stern stars as recent widower Joe Binder who lives with his teenage son, Grant, his daughter, Joanie, and Joanie's infant daughter, Zoe. Now playing the role of both parents, Joe has his hands full as he helps Grant (John Francis Daley) navigate the treacherous waters of high school and Joanie (Kelly Karbacz) - a sardonic college freshman - face the trials and triumphs of single motherhood. Complicating his life further are his well-meaning but intrusive father, Baxter (Judd Hirsch), and Sitvar (Brian George), the high-strung employee at his hardware store. In the premiere episode -- "Puppetry of the Pennies" - the Binder family bands together to come up with some extra money when Joanie is admitted to Columbia University -- but Grant and his dad are at odds over a two-dollar raise -- on the series premiere of the midseason comedy "Regular Joe," FRIDAY, MARCH 28 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. "Regular Joe" stars Daniel Stern as Joe, Judd Hirsch as Baxter, John Francis Daley as Grant, Kelly Karbacz as Joanie and Brian George as Sitvar. Guest starring is John Maynard as balding guy. "Puppetry of the Pennies" was written by series creator and executive producer David Litt and directed by Gary Halvorson. "Regular Joe" is created by David Litt. The series' executive producers are David Litt, Nina Wass and Gene Stein. Produced by Touchstone Television, the half-hour sitcom is taped before a studio audience at the CBS Radford Center in Studio City, California. "Regular Joe" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and also in Spanish via SAP. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate. |
