I think the strange thing was that Both Laverne & Shirley and Blanskys Beauties were both Garry Marshall shows. Same producer / director .So the viewers probably always thought of Carmine and Joey as the same person. Where as other actors who were on two shows, like Lynn Hamilton. The actress who played Donna on Sanford & Son and also played Verdie on The Waltons at the same time. But they were completly different shows. Way different producers and directors. So Donna and Verdie really seemed like two different people.
