Did the dog on Petticoat Junction have a name? My primetime directory doesn't mention him.

I'm not 100 percent sure , but I think his name was actually just " Dog" ! I kinda remember reading that somewhere !

Yes, his name was just Dog on the show.

He was also Benji in the movies. Next to Lassie he was pretty famous.

Really cute dog. I always thought Edgar Buchanan loved "Dog". They seemed to have a special bond on screen.

I saw the first disc of my season 1 DVD tonight, the first 8 episodes. Biggest surprise was Dog didn't exist yet. I had assumed he was on the whole show. There was a talking bird who was cool, but that was already scaled back on 2nd half of the disc.

Yes. If I remember correctly didn't he follow Betty Jo home or something and they adopted him?
