Do we all overvalue intelligence?

Whenever I go on the net,I usually always see alot of comments,postings,memes and pictures all complaining about how people are so stupid. Im tired of having to keep hearing such complaints. My thoughts are that we overvalue intelligence over other qualities that make up a human being. Its their actions and thoughts towards others that truly define what a person is worth.

Well, I think it is in human nature to call other people that don't see their way (or don't believe what they believe) stupid or other derogatory words. You yourself have called other people that don't believe what you believe sheep, programed or followers. So we are all guilty in that regard.

As far as a person's intelligence goes, I pick having common sense (over intelligence) as a better indication of what a person worth

In 2020, that kind of rhetoric had a body count. I personally lost several friends and acquaintances to COVID. Three of them were former high school classmates who spent months posting the exact same conspiracy theories you do — railing against Fauci, masks, and the “sheep” — until they ended up dying alone on ventilators in their late 30s and early 40s (one of those guys didn’t even live long enough to whine about the “jab” because it didn’t exist yet during his abbreviated life). It was a sad, preventable phenomenon so common it earned its own name: the Herman Cain Award.

I’m high-risk, chronically ill, and live with multiple co-morbidities (and no, I’m not looking for sympathy or an “I’m sorry buddy”). I’ve had my initial shots and annual boosters, and when I inevitably caught COVID, the vaccine turned a potential death sentence into what seemed like a nasty cold I got over after three days of rest.

The vaccine saved my life. Misinformation kills. That’s why I challenge it. If you’re going to post malinformed nonsense on a public forum, expect people to bring reality into the comments.

Thank you for talking publicly about your friends--the losses, the struggles during that time and beyond, and your own personal issues. Dude did make assumptions in private messages that he was the only person in those messages (I saw them due to the "report" function) who lost something--the friends he lost due to his stands on what he calls "the shot."

As you know, we can't get too deeply into debates about COVID on here, due to rules--and I've had to warn him about that. We'll need to be more vigilant in moderating misinformed posts.

Please don't hesitate to report posts, as moderators don't read every single post.

You seem to think anyone who disagrees with you or challenges you is MAD. Or in a bad mood.

You make sweeping generalizations about lots of things, the latest about "Sesame Street." You have to expect pushback, but realize no one is mad or in a bad mood.
