The picture is AI, but the following story is real: In 1967, the Jimi Hendrix Experience were playing in Liverpool, though the Beatles weren’t there at the time. Jimi Hendrix and Noel Redding, wearing their psychedelic rainbow clothes, stopped into a bar, and the bartender wouldn’t serve them. Hendrix asked if it was because he was black, the bartender said no, and Hendrix demanded to be served. The bartender still said no. He added that the bar had a rule, and the rule was spelled out, clearly on the sign outside. Noel Redding went outside and looked at the sign and started laughing. He went back into the bar and found Hendrix still arguing with the bartender, and the bartender finally lost his cool. “For the last time,” the bartender said, “I’m not serving you, or you mate! No clowns allowed!” Redding then whispered into Hendrix’s ear, explaining, “There’s a circus in town and the bar doesn’t want any of the clowns from the circus in here. He thinks we’re clowns." At that, a big smile burst on Hendrix’s face.

This is the one hundred and sixty-third post on this thread, so here's a picture of Pennsylvania State Route 163, which runs parallel to the Mason-Dixon line. Its parent route is not PA Route 63, which is a hundred or so miles away, but Maryland State Route 63, which it connects with at its western terminus.

Someone made and posted in a Facebook fan page an AI picture of the Beatles browsing at a Liverpool record store surrounded by respectful fans - and the LP covers showed Cliff Richard on a Supremes album cover and a sign promoting new "releasees." In a way of getting back at this prankster, I took the picture and added albums from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Kiss, plus a place in the rack for Ultimate Spinach (a late-sixties Boston band), and I then replaced the fans with Paul Lynde, Dean Martin, Abe Vigoda, Richard J. Daley, Mako, Jean Harlow, Bob Newhart, and Kathy Kinney. I posted it in response to the original AI prankster.
My AI pictures are meant to be so ridiculous that it's impossible to think they're real. And if the sight of the Beatles hanging out in a record shop in their own hometown with the likes of Jean Harlow and Bob Newhart weren't enough to convince you that this is AI, dig the sign announcing a new album from the Chocolate Watchband. The Chocolate Watchband were never popular in Liverpool! 😄 |
