Favorite Rock Musical
I did this thread about two years ago, but we have quite a few new members here and I've added some films that were not included on the previous thread.
Even though I love quite a few of the films on this list, my favorite is still Flashdance. |

I've only seen three of them ("Grease," "American Graffiti" and "Saturday Night
Fever"). I picked "Grease." I liked the music and the screen chemistry between Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John). Didi Conn and Stockard Channing had good supporting roles, and veteran performers Sid Caesar and Eve Arden rounded out an outstanding cast. Great movie. |

Some of you may have noticed that I also didn't include A Hard Day's Night or Help! on the poll either. Since there are so many rock musicals, I decided to leave off all films made before 1970. That is why neither Hair nor Woodstock is on here either. I considered including Jesus Christ Superstar (which was the first film produced by former Bee Gees and Eric Clapton manager and future Saturday Night Fever and Grease producer Robert Stigwood) because I didn't think all that many people had seen it.
