The question is hard to answer. Neither character is likable.

Well, I guess I would "more" like the character who is less dis-likable. And that is Penny.

Semi off-topic…

The Buzzr diginet has rights to The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour, from 1983-84.

One week highlighted actors from “Beaver” returning. Jeri Weil (Judy) was one of them—and although I’m sure that she was paid a fair amount to appear, she really looked like she didn’t wanna be there. Maybe that sincere of her, or maybe she was trying to emulate Judy! I say the former though.

This also was weird…..on one week, “celebrity” Kim Hood, anchorwoman at NBC affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis, was on. Who? Huh?

It shouldn’t have been that hard to get someone semi-FAMOUS to fill a chair!

cd

It might have been on one of the DVD special features that I heard someone interview Jeri Weil. I have heard other cast members interviewed, and they always give interesting tidbits about their time on the show--except Jeri. Same didn't wanna be there attitude you noticed.

Judy was always a sourpuss on every episode she was in and was never anything but a louse to Beaver! I go with Penny.

And despite that, I'm still fascinated with her.
When I saw a recent video over how Jeri Wehl quit the show because the producers and costume designers were going a little too out of their way to cover up her emerging puberty, I felt kind of bad for her.

Years later when she was all grown up and all the puberty issues were over, she appeared on an episode of "Still the Beaver." I didn't have cable TV at the time so I didn't see it, but some people posted the episode on YouTube, including clips from their first reunion scene. She's just as arrogant and stuck-up as she was when she was a kid.

I kind of wish the "Still the Beaver" episode mentioned Judy hitting a home run and twirling when she was a kid.

With Karen Sue Trent, the situation was more tragic. It wasn't her role as Penny Woods that ruined her, but a guest spot on "The Rifleman" where she broke her arm on the set.

So, while Penny was a more likeable character than Judy, I still feel kind of torn.

If I remember correctly the CAST all felt she was actually a really sweet girl in real life- and just acted the jerk VERY WELL

that is what makes a great actress - Bravo Judy !

Ugh! I'm so pissed at myself for not throwing in a Lost in Space joke, when I had the chance.

Is Penny the one who bragged in class about riding in horse shows?
