FloTV - Does anyone remember this short-lived TV service? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

In the 2010's one of the very first streaming services made it's debut and was called FloTV. FloTV was a device similar to a Roku device that enabled you to see cable channels and local channels on your TV for a large fee. When I first heard of FloTV I thought it would be impressive. But due to poor sales FloTV went broke and before Roku became huge FloTV was one of the first streaming services that showed what the future of television would be like

I remember seeing the FloTV device in Best Buy and I was curious to know more about it. But based on what I read about FloTV it would've had competition with Roku but what actually caused FloTV to go broke so quickly? Was the FloTV device and subscription too expensive for the price?
