Neat. So Marci the friend in the show was named after a real friend of Valerie's.

She gets the credit for Karen too, another friend in her stories about the early days of the show. Mackenzie Phillips was worldly to Valerie because in 1975 Mack had cable TV.

So what’d you get/do for your birthday? Did you yell at the mirror? Did you get tied up while someone stole your basketballs?

Very cool that they named two friends after Valerie's real friends. I went to school with Marci's and Karen's ( had a good friend named Karen myself) , they were kind of popular names than.

Sad how the name Karen got such a bad reputation now as being a b*tchy woman!

No. Neither of those things happened , however two sad things did happen. A young woman who is very dear to me just found out she will not be able to have childten. And a young man who is very dear to me , just found out by way of a letter that his wife left him and his baby!

But for real, nice Birthday . Got a delicious birthday cake and a couple of nice presents yesterday. And today my Son treated me to a movie . We saw "Obsession" . It was a really good, trippy horror movie !

But Vegas lost today. Mexico won the soccer though, LA is really happy! My Hubby is into soccer/Futbol as they call it, and lots of Latinos and Europeans that live out here. But for the life of me it baffles me. Not sure what teams are what, where and why and the game rules and all ? But USA plays tomorrow , so that is cool, I'll try to figure it out and follow it when the NBA and NHL are done!

The villain in this movie made Endless Elliot look like a saint! She was really creepy/ freaky. Like a cross between Linda Blair in the Exorcist and Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction!

And Barbara didn't wish for Elliot to love her. The guy in Obsession did. The girl of his dreams was a friend he knew for years and also a co worker. She just thought of him as a friend. But he secretly loved her for years!

Anyway , he purchases what he thought was just a novelty item at a magic shop, and makes a wish that this girl will fall on love with him.

Be careful what you wish for was the main point of the movie. A really beautiful, cool, normal girl suddenly turned totally insane, overly obsessive, evil, basically acted pocessed by the devil ! Is this the girl you want to love you?

It was really a trip! A wild ride of a movie ! Two thumbs up from Siskel & Ebert ( Joshua and I) .

Very cool ! First Mexico, now USA winning the soccer games! Not really sure I understand the Canada game ? I didn't watch it , but I know they tied 1 to 1 . My Hubby explained that to me before a couple of times how this plays out. But I really still don't get how a major game can end in a tie?

I'm still baffled over why the Macy's Thanksgiving parade is so popular and why Barbra Streisand decided to go into acting? Now I have to comprehend how a sports team can end a game in a tie?

Soccer’s always had ties, except for knockout rounds in tournaments or so called “championship” games. Why it was set up this way a long time ago I can not tell you.

Regular season NFL games can still end in a tie (although it commonly doesn’t happen). And up until 2005 the NHL used to have regular season ties (these were common)

Oh yeah, you don't even like to watch trailers. But I didn't really say too much to give away the movie, only the description of the movie basically.

I do know the girl in it was a regular on Superman and Lois (she was neither Superman nor Lois). So I’m at least interested in it from that angle.

Now that the NBA is over with we can get on with the important stuff. We need a Vegas win tonight so we can have a game 7 on Wednesday.
