There are eight planets in the Solar System. In ancient time before telescope, the visible planets to the naked eyes such as Venus or Jupiter were given Roman's God or Goddess names. Of all the planets, my favorite planet is Venus also known as Evening Star (or Morning Star depending on season) as it is the brightest planet in the solar system. It is always visible right after dusk.
The planets are listed based on their distance from the Sun: Mercury: The smallest planet out of the eight and closest to the Sun, Mercury was named after the Roman messenger god-because of its fast movements around the Sun. ![]() Venus: Venus is the brightest object in the sky after the Moon, and the Sun and it is the hottest planet of the Solar system. It was given the name of the goddess of beauty and love. ![]() Earth: Third closest planet to the Sun, Earth is the biggest terrestrial planet with round 70% of Earth’s surface is covered in water. It is the only planet that wasn’t named after a Greek or Roman god. ![]() Mars: Also known as the Red Planet due to its reddish hue primarily because of its iron oxide on its surface, Mars is very similar to Earth. It is named after the Roman god of war due to its red appearance. ![]() Jupiter: Most massive planet of the Solar System, it is 317 times more massive than Earth and 2.5 times larger than all the other planets combined. Jupiter is named after the principal Roman god. Jupiter comprised mostly out of swirling gases and liquids such as 90% hydrogen, 10% helium – very similar to the sun. ![]() Saturn: A gas giant, Saturn is the second-largest planet of the Solar System and is named after the Roman god of harvest and time. ![]() Uranus: Having the coldest planetary atmosphere in the solar system, it takes Uranus 84 years to complete an orbit of the Sun. It was given the name Uranus, after the Greek god of the sky Ouranos. ![]() Neptune: Farthest planet of the Solar System, it is the only planet that is invisible to the unaided eye. It has the longest orbital duration of 165 years, and was given the name of the roman god of the sea due to its bluish-ocean like color.

According to IAU (International Astronomical Union) Pluto is not a Planet and it is labeled as as a "Dwarf Planet". Meaning it is not big enough to have orbital dominance and share its orbit with other similar size objects in its path (kuiper Belt).

I'm partial to Earth, life for us would be impossible without it lol
Mars maybe next since it would likely be our next viable place if we ever lost earth. I'm probably most grateful to Jupiter and Saturn for catching and absorbing all the asteroids, if it wasn't for those 2 giants catching them, we'd likely been wiped out |

I came here to make a dumb Uranus joke, but this nonsense derailed my plans:
Quote:
Seriously, this is an insane take, even for you: NASA is lying to us about the color of Mars, because… reasons. |

AI:
Ancient astronomers, including the Egyptians and Babylonians, noted Mars' red color, with the Egyptians calling it 'Her Desher' meaning 'the Red One' and the Romans naming it after their god of war, Mars. This distinctive hue has been observed for thousands of years, with records dating back to 2000 BC. Meanwhile, back to Uranus joke ... |

Mars is my favorite. So many great candies like M&Ms, Twix, Milky Way (bring back the fudge flavor!), Dove, Snickers, and 3 Musketeers come from Mars.
