Here's a thought, maybe you didn't care for it because it's something new you hadn't heard before. Give it a listen a few more times and maybe you'll get familiar with it and like it better. That's how it is with me sometimes. There are several songs that I disliked when I first heard them, but after a few more listens I ended up liking them.

I think the real issue is the definition of "filler", which on another forum I read actually had this debate a week or two ago when discussing the discography of David Bowie. A difference between "I don't care for this song" and actual filler. The discussion was about how Let's Dance was the first time Bowie actually put filler on an album, there may have been weaker spots on previous albums but usually every single note on those albums was there for a purpose, but stuff like "Shake It" and "Without You" were actually just thrown there to pad an album out with not a lot of ideas, that his previous more theatrical albums had weaker spots but they still had a reason to be on the album compared to some of the tracks padding down his 80s albums that were forgettable and pointless. When it comes to "Rumours" for instance, songs like "The Chain", "Gold Dust Woman", "Second Hand News", "Never Going Back Again" and "Songbird" have all become classics and favorites in their own right, frequently appearing in live sets (Songbird was usually meant to be the showcase for Christine McVie) and also turning up on compilations and receiving airplay in their own right. You may not like those songs, but I don't see the argument that The Chain (used as the opening track on their last tour and also used heavily in Guardians Of The Galaxy) or Gold Dust Woman (considered one of Stevie Nicks' ultimate tracks) are merely "filler" when they've become classics in their own right and songs the audience expects to hear in concert. Filler tracks usually aren't performed live or placed on compilations.

People who are big fans of Fleetwood Mac will like almost everything they do but I'm certainly not a big fan. I like a few of their hit singles and that's it. Thanks for your comments but my opinion remains the same, the Rumours album is overhyped/overrated, it has the four hit singles but the rest of the album is all filler.

Fleetwood Mac has always been high on my list of favorites. I notice he never answered his own question.

He didn't like Don't Stop either, for whatever reason. Maybe he just doesn't like anything from Rumours, which is really an iconic album.
