McDonald’s Launches Stranger Things-Themed Happy Meal

McDonald’s is turning “Stranger Things” fans’ worlds upside down with its latest themed Happy Meal.

The fast-food chain has teamed up with Netflix to release a limited-edition Happy Meal, just in time for the premiere of Netflix’s new animated series, “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85”. Customers in the U.S. can start purchasing the meal on May 5.




The new show follows everyone’s favorite characters (voiced by different actors this time around) — Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max — as they return to their normal lives in 1985 after closing the gate to the Upside Down.

Soon enough, they encounter another mystery to solve and need to save their town once again.




The Happy Meal comes with the following items:

- Stranger Things: Tales From ’85-inspired Happy Meal box
- 1 collectible character toy (12 available)
- Stranger Things activity book
- QR code to access a digital experience and interactive game

I cannot wait for the new Stranger Things McDonald's Happy Meal and I've already marked my calendar for Tuesday and I hope my McDonald's has it out for purchase. Because my McDonald's never rarely gets the new Happy Meal promotions until Wednesday sometimes. I hope McDonald's hits a home run with this Happy Meal and I bet a lot of Stranger Things fans will buy this Happy Meal

I saw that some locations around me have released them already as I've seen discarded happy meal boxes in the public garbage.

I looked on UBER Eats for McDonald's and the Super Mario meal is still being offered.

My mom plans to call several of the McDonald's in my town tomorrow morning and see if they have officially started the Stranger Things Happy Meal. Maybe tomorrow UberEats will start offering the Stranger Things Happy Meal. If I can get a Stranger Things Happy Meal tomorrow JamesG I'll tell you about it

Yeah, I went on UBER Eats and it’s now available.

I tried to get the new Stranger Things Happy Meal today and was unsuccessful. And I had called the closest McDonald's next to me and they claimed they had it but when I ordered it through UberEats I received NO Stranger Things Happy Meal box and NO Stranger Things toy and all my McDonald's had was Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys and as I mentioned McDonald's told me that they DID have Stranger Things Happy Meals and toys when I called them so why would they lie and still give out Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys when the first day of the Stranger Things Happy Meal already started today? My guess is that McDonald's is hiding these toys so Stranger Things fans can get their hands on them

In my eyes what this Stranger Things Happy Meal is gonna be like the McDonald's Ty Teenie Beanie Babies Happy Meal craze because all the McDonald's should've been prepared for all the fans wanting to grab the first toy that debuted in this Stranger Things Happy Meal. Because as I mentioned yesterday I called McDonald's and they claimed to have the Stranger Things Happy Meal but I got a Super Mario Galaxy Movie toy but there was no Stranger Things Happy Meal boxes either at my McDonald's and all they had was regular Happy Meal boxes. And what I think is that some McDonald's are trying to get rid of the remaining Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys so they can start giving the Stranger Things Happy Meal toys. I am gonna hopefully try again on either Friday or Saturday to see if my McDonald's has finally begun giving out the Stranger Things Happy Meal

I ordered the Stranger Things meal last night through UBER Eats. Little bummed that I did not receive the Activity Book.

The toy inside was the Vine Crawler. I like how they all come in their unique box.

I got very lucky when my family decided to have McDonald's for dinner and I thought I was gonna have bad luck when just out of the blue I finally scored the Stranger Things Happy Meal and even got the box and the figure I got was the Dustin figure and these figures are so cool but the box that reveals the figure is tricky to open but we figured it out. You mentioned that each Stranger Things Happy Meal toy comes with an activity book but my Happy Meal didn't have one. But it was indeed my lucky day today

The activity book was supposed to be inside the Happy Meal bag wrapped up similar to the KPop cards.

I've been seeing on places like YouTube and Reddit that many people are saying their meals did not come with the Activity Book.

I do see them for sale on eBay.

I ordered another Stranger Things meal and my toy was Dustin. No activity book.

I'm guessing that they were made in limited amounts and were available when the meals first came out. I saw that some locations released the meals before the official date on May 5th.

I see the book for sale on second-hand sites so they did come out.

I got very lucky when I decided to have McDonald's again today and I got another Stranger Things Happy Meal and this time I got the Will figure and that made me happy because Will is my favorite Stranger Things character. It has been a pretty hard week for me because I have been having a toothache so this was a special treat for me today
