People seem to forget that Stephanie played lead on the detective/romantic comedy series. Bronson, Roberts, Read, the seat warming younger secretary etc. etc. were supporting players.

Stephanie Zimbalist however, really seemed to fall off post-RS. One theory that I've heard is that her appearance on David Letterman's old Late Night show on NBC gave you a hint. Basically, Stephanie depending on your point of view, came across as one of the most socially awkward celebrities imaginable. It wasn't necessarily like she was drunk or obnoxious or even shy, but more like she'd just left the convent after being there since she was 12 years old. In effect, it must have been very difficult and painful for Stephanie Zimbalist to manage being a celebrity, which is far different from being an actor.

Personally, I thought Stephanie Zimbalist was a beautiful and great actress. I miss seeing her on television.
