Both are great classic shows close together in quality. Family Ties and Home Improvement are also smart enough not to attempt a revival, unlike others which often tarnish the original legacy.

There are probably better Family Ties episodes than any Home Improvement episodes, but Home Improvement's Tool Time and Wilson segments always delivered.

You are very much mistaken. I have never heard anyone claim Home Improvement is not a sitcom. Tool Time is a show within a show, the job Tim Allen's character has. But he has a wife, three sons, and a quirky neighbor as well. His Tool Time assistant Al also has several storylines that are not just about Tool Time.

Neither really. Wasn't into either show. But I picked Family ties , there were a few good episodes . But I never found Home improvement good or funny at all.

Home Improvement was one of the most popular shows in the 90s, worth checking out. If you have a LAFF affiliate they air it every night starting at 5PM.

I decided to vote for Family Ties. All five of its core cast members were there all 7 seasons. Season 8 of Home Improvement wasn't as good without Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
