To some degree, I feel the case is a done deal and won't rewatch it to reexamine who is and isn't lying. I don't think, however, a party ever took place after the murders, and I don't think the corpses were sexually molested (which came from the tape guy). Late teen males who probably never held a job aren't going to be able to clean up after a party, which can go pretty rowdy from a crowd with obvious impulse control issues. It was telling too that there were conflicting accounts on whether Pamela or Eric were shot first, and UM never cared to make an issue of that. So much of this is hearsay and back to human psychology of people who want to feel special. I don't think more than three, but probably two, were involved in the murders. The rest went from there. I can see a girl telling two "Satanic" males to not hurt the baby and getting her way. Too many actors involving in such a slaying would make havoc. This might be the only UM episode where I felt the Satanic angle had some legitimacy, and it's interesting that the one to have legitimacy comes from a group that clearly had no real doctrine or organization, which goes back to the idea that Satanic cults never really existed. |

I just saw this segment for the first time. Wow. I didn't know a case as bizarre and disturbing as this ever made it to Unsolved Mysteries. I'm glad those responsible have been apprehended and punished correctly.
As far as the mysterious video. My guess is, one does not exist. The group of people that killed the Ellenders weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, so for a video to have never been leaked or found by now would require a lot of secrecy. The same can be said of them destroying the tape. By now, someone would have said it was destroyed. I believe all of those who said they "saw" the tape, were actually there when the murders took place and are just describing what they saw, not what they viewed on a tape. |

My belief is that only a handful of teenagers and young adults were involved in the actual murders. However, I think the case was hampered by the fact that most of the suspects were teenagers, this appears to have been a relatively small town, and there were allegations that Huey Littleton was offering rewards and cash incentives for information. I think the above circumstances coalesced to create all these wild rumors about a party and some of the more outlandish and bizarre claims about this case. In the end, so many potential players were named and so many accusations made it became difficult to discern fact from fiction. To that end, I do think a lot of people probably said they had information, and such information was usually gleaned because either they were there themselves, or they knew and talked to someone that was. Such statements were likely either outright bogus, or exaggerations. Again though, I feel like the number of people with direct involvement was likely small and the story just took on a life of it's own. I also can't help but feel for the family, especially Huey Littleton. The fact that the likely instigator of the plot committed suicide and never had to truly pay for his crimes no doubt played a part in Littleton's need to find someone to hold accountable. |

I just finished watching the episode on Pam and Eric Ellender. I can't believe what how the case was handled. What a mess. Then when I found out that the sheriff's son was at the party, I understood why. This is case is so obvious yet they made it so difficult to solve. Shame on them. A young child is without his/her parents. I pray that Huey can get justice. From what I seen those who were charged got off lightly. There are others who got away with murder.

Video cameras were very expensive back then. I would be more inclined to believe the guy if he said they had photographs and if he was not obviously a liar. If he had said they stole the victims' video camera and recorded, that might have been more believable. Honestly, I think he said all that sick stuff to stick it to the shamus.
As for a party, if there were that many people there, there should be a gigantic mess and a group of teenagers aren't known for being reserved and organized. Plus, when would this party have ended if the police were there the next day and the victims were killed late at night? Whether true or not, this has to be the story on Unsolved Mysteries with the sickest details. |

Huey shows how some people just cannot accept reality, like the Berkowitz guy Maury Terry. Another Satanic cult-this one of skateboarding kids was invented or was that just the acronym they randomly came up with, because a few scumbag kids high on drugs & their own egos wanting a flash car & killing the home occupants for the keys to it is just too easy right? Some murdering cult eh-they used the gun in the victims house, didn't even take any weapons apparently.
The fact they left behind an infant should have told him it wasn't a cult-because we all know these Satanic cults love sacrificing & eating kids right? Guess what-like Amy Billig's mother if you go around offering people money for information, they will feed you all kinds of rubbish, or just confirm what you are suggesting to them. |
