The purpose of this thread is to display and examine in some depth
Tina Cole's various looks when she wore longer hair. Mostly from her My Three Sons work, from which she is best known (as Katie). If you're a Tina Cole fan like me, this thread is for you. Although she could "pull-off" the shorter hair looks we've become accustomed to see her wearing, I tend to find her longer styles to be more compelling, and oftentimes simply more beautiful. Here we see Tina in a truly stunning appearance on Hawaiian Eye as Sunny Day. It's very easy to see why Troy Donahue made unwelcome advances on Tina, as she has detailed. A swept-back style with perfect volume. Substantially curled "flipped" ends set off the look very nicely: Tina's pretty face is in evidence at left. Here's also a look from the back. Tina shows us that she can look truly lovely in a '60s hairstyle that complements her beauty, the effect is remarkably nice: This is Tina in Season 5 of M3S as Robbie's classmate Sherry. Here we see her shoulder-length hair partially pulled back, with fairly minimal curling. A cute style that affords us a look at her face in full, and it's nice to be able to see her ears: Sherry has changed her look to hang out with a beatnik group. Tina's hair sweeps along with minimal restraint. The overall effect is great. Lovely, gentle curling of beautiful blonde ribbons of hair: Tina's left eye is partially covered, for a seductive look. There must be some parting of her hair on her right to cause the hair to fall that way. (In later seasons of M3S, Tina always parts her hair on the left.) Very nice length, such a pleasing look: Wonderful fullness of her hair, and then a very pretty face, as Tina shows us a beautiful smile: More to come!

Although I'm much more familiar with the Season 5 episode seen in
my first post, in my opinion Tina made her most beautiful M3S appearance in the Season 4 episode I'll display this time. We find that for her first time on M3S, Tina's hairstyle is largely unchanged from her Hawaiian Eye hair. Very nice length, with the ends curled substantially, and great volume (2 images): As expected with this style, here we see obvious evidence of hairspray in use to keep all of the tresses in place: In the left image, Tina's hair in motion gives us a good view of the long length unfurled. At right, the overall look is quite attractive: On the left, the curls really "pop" in Tina's "flip" style. At right, we note that there appear to be streaks of mixed color shades of the hair, though the lighting obviously has a lot to do with that: Tina is so lovely in this episode, wearing an attractive blouse. Beautiful longer hair, I think this image captures a fantastic look: Finally this time out, let's look at Tina's longest style in a publicity photo. Although she wore a hairpiece ("fall") in one or more of her Four King Cousins appearances, there's no telling if that's the case here as well. Though one wonders if she would find a need for one in this outdoor image. Here is Tina's partially pulled-back, long look, very pleasing! |

The images in this post all come from the 1977 ABC-TV "My Three Sons /
Partridge Family Thanksgiving Reunion Special." In this special, Tina wears a lovely skirt and blouse outfit with nice, tall boots. Don Grady reportedly fell back in love with her at this time, and considering her vivacious performance and beautiful appearance, it's very easy to see why. Let's see how Tina's hair was done in the mid-to-late '70s. Although shorter than her styles circa 1973 on shows like The Rookies and Adam-12, we see a pleasing length: Next 2 images -- Here's Tina with Don Grady. We note that she still favors placing the part in her hair on the left (though not too far), so tresses are descending toward her right eye. Very lovely: In the next 2 images, we see that those tresses are under careful control to keep them from falling into her eye: Beautiful, Tina shows us that she can totally rock the style of its era. Wonderful fullness and carefully combed. So pleasing: Just a couple more looks. This hairstyle so nicely complements Tina's pretty face. Lovely blonde tresses: Between her clothing choices and hair, Tina looks wonderful in this special. |

For the purposes of this thread, the color season of M3S we want to
focus on is S12 (1971-72, the final season). Tina has some pretty length going on. Here we see her hair practically resting on her shoulders. Parted on the left as I've mentioned, silky hair with a very gentle wave: From the same episode, here is a really nice look at Tina's hair in motion. Great volume and beautiful tresses. Apparently no earrings: Season 12 also affords us a look at Tina wearing up-dos. Incredible formal style, just look at that bun...! Another view. Quite a hot look, amazing: Lovely: Tina's singing skills are utilized, as a story has Katie getting a gig. Great ep for Tina fans. I like the inward curl of the ends. Tina could wear earrings if she wanted to, they'd be visible at times: This side view is from Jan. 1972, I still need to find info regarding an hour-long M3S airing. Very pretty: |

Great shots--I like the S12 shots--but Mr. Snark here needs to mention--how much better they would be in great video quality. All sitting in some deep vault, unused since 1972.
I too, would like to see that hour special. Lost video. |

Continuing with Season 12, here we have Tina wearing her hair
in a very formal up-do, as the Katie character takes on work as a singer in the Osserpse cafe. (As with the wedding of Fergus episode much earlier in the season, Tina wears both up and down hairstyles within the same episode.) 3 images, quite beautiful, remarkable: Tina's lovely facial features are complemented with eye shadow and long eyelashes, wow: For the remaining images in this post: From a King Family special, in which Tina goes solo in addition to her singing as one of the Four King Cousins, I've taken numerous screenshots to show Tina wearing a "fall" or some type of hairpiece -- extending what appears very likely to be her natural hair, swept back off her forehead. Tough to pin down the exact date, very late 1960s. Really a very lovely long look, tied in back with a ribbon. Lots of waves and curls, beautiful blonde color: Tina moves around a lot while singing, so that makes it a little difficult to obtain a quality image. Although not her "true" length at the time, it's so nice to have a good look at Tina with long tresses, very hot: |

An extremely rare look at Tina Cole wearing her hair in ponytails!
From Season 11 of My Three Sons, we know that this scene was shot early on because Fred MacMurray is in it: Almost certainly hair pieces have been added to achieve the lengths of the double ponytails -- however, since this was from early filming, there's a slight chance Tina actually added length in the offseason (following S10, later having it cut). A cute look: For the remainder of this post, we'll revisit Tina as Sunny Day on Hawaiian Eye. There's noteworthy "overall" curling going on here, quite a beautiful effect -- with those pretty eyes beaming at us: Substantial flipping of the hair ends, as we saw earlier in this thread, and impressive volume: Here's an interesting look, Tina has a pageboy hairstyle going on. There's quite possibly a barrette holding her hair in place, at the back of her head. A very lovely effect: O... M... G... Tina is hot to the extreme. Wonderful: With Troy Donahue. A fun and beautiful image: |

Bump
I'm very excited today to share some new screenshots of Tina that I've taken, from a King Family special. Wow - wow - wow - wow - wow - wow - wow - wow - wow ! I'm so thankful that vintage video of Tina and her family is available. I absolutely love Tina's look here: wearing an attractive choker and tasteful little earrings. So, SO lovely with her hair substantially pulled back. Bee - yoo - ti - ful! |
