Accidently came across a season 4 episode and noticed the Stephanie character looked

like she was damm near in college I normally dont watch season 4 and had it on the other night and saw that she looked almost 18 and I had to add count the seasons. She was 9 or 10 in 1979 so I guess she was around 15

I have never seen her at the point of the series and was shocked because it made it seem like Archie Bunkers place was in its 6th season but I know it only had 4 lol

She was 13 1/2 when ABP ended. In season 1 of ABP, she appeared her real age of 10. By season 2, she looked closer to 13, and by seasons 3 and 4, as you said 16 or 17 and very gorgeous. She grew up so fast it probably hurt her character. She was brought in to do cute kid stuff but rapidly aged out of that phase. But she wasn't old enough to fit in a show centered at a saloon.

Danielle must have matured faster than any girl in history. As a result by S2 she held no resemblance to the tiny 'lil kid deadbeat father Floyd dumped on Bunker's doorstep.

For a while they tried to incorporate her becoming a brunette bombshell into the storyline; Stephanie joins Girls Club. Stephanie becomes a cheerleader. But I'm guessing the honchos at CBS weren't happy. They were paying CoC way too much $$ to be a cheer mom. So it seemed they gave up trying to develop the character and at the end she became just another bratty apathic teenager.
