Default Fried Chicken: Dark or White Meat

When ordering or making Fried Chicken, do you prefer dark meat such as Drums or Thigh, or white meat such as Breast or Wings?

I usually go for the white meat as meat seem to be more tender and taste better when fried as compared with fried Thigh or legs. Dark meat have more bones in them, so to me they taste better braised in liquid such as soups or stews than being Fried. Exception here might be the wings as they taste either braised or Fried

Lee's Famous Recipe has the best fried chicken: boneless breast strips (original, haven't tried the spicy yet). Not as good, but I often get the Hungryman boneless fried chicken TV dinner (always cook it in the oven, microwave would ruin). I used to get Cracker Barrel's bone-in fried chicken but it was so greasy.

Dark meat tend to be more expensive to process than white meat due to having more bones. That is probably why chicken nuggets in majority of fast food establishment (or in grocery stores) tend to be from white meat.

Liking chicken Breast too, we might be in minority here Bonnie as in most buffets that offer fried chicken, the Legs seem to be most favorite and first to disappear.

Don't have that store in my in my city, but have KFC, Popeye, Churches and Raising Cane fast food in my area that offer boneless chicken strip. To me Churches taste the best, especially their chicken breast sandwiches.

Fast food places probably were about good quality food when they had small footprint and before getting franchised. But quality seem to get lost in translation when going big. For example, if KFC founder Colonel Sanders was alive today, he will be very dishearten the way his beloved KFC have turned out as KFC stores struggling to stay float.

BTW, the last tally on the poll: 3 to 2 in favor of white meat (Breast and Wings).

Same for me.
But it's been well over 6 months since I've had fried chicken; the closest thing was some frozen breaded tenders.
