Trader Joe's sells you bags of chips with 75 percent of the bag empty

Has anyone else been noticing this? This store is ripping people off.

Its sad they are charging the SAME PRICE as a full bag!!

I guess the only way we can really tell if the bags contain the stated amount is to weigh them. The appearance of the bag means nothing

On the bag it does say how many ounce of chips the bag contain. But most of bag is filled with air (nitrogen) to prevent crushing during transit, reducing breakage. It also prevents the growth of bacteria and the deterioration of the chips-which would happen if Oxygen was used instead of Nitrogen.

I have never figured out how in the world Trader Joe's manages to survive in business but they seem to be opening stores in lots of states and what I think Trader Joe's is trying to compete with supermarkets like Aldi and Sprouts and when you get the general picture I basically think Trader Joe's is trying to make the supermarket chains like Albertson's and Safeway go broke because they seem to be opening stores in shopping centers everywhere. My first view of Trader Joe's was when my family saw one across from the mall and we were curious to see what it was like. So my family checked out Trader Joe's and to my surprise it was a store that was very unappealing and as we walked through Trader Joe's I couldn't figure out why this store gets a lot of hype. But how Trader Joe's has become so giant as a popular store i'll never know the answer
