Default Am I the last one to find out that Dean is the father of Teri’s daughter Emerson?

I’d heard rumors but never really believed them until I checked out Emerson’s photos (see attached images). OMG that girl is the spitting image of a younger Dean! She’s got ears and a nose (It’s a distinctly Asian nose, too!) that look exactly like Dean’s (Dean is a quarter Japanese) , and they resemble neither Teri’s nor her ex-husband’s (Neither of them has Asian heritage). Emerson’s eyes have Dean’s shape but Teri’s size. Only her mouth is all Teri.

Does anyone know what the hell happened between Dean and Teri thirty years ago? I remember hearing rumors that they had a big fight on set toward the end of the show. It must have been because of their child. Dean is such a superb father. It’s the greatest tragedy that he didn’t get to watch his daughter grow up.

Another curious thing: it seems both Dean and Teri stopped dating around May 2008, two years after their public reunion at Teri’s book launch party. And they’ve both stayed “single” ever since. Any chance they secretly got back together and raised their daughter as a couple?

It’s also worth noting that Dean and Teri started making public appearances together again after 2017, when their daughter was 20 and all grown up. Could it be that Emerson’s parents decided she was finally mature and strong enough to handle some public attention, so they no longer had to guard their love secret so fiercely?

I’ve always found the relationship between Teri and her ex-husband bizarre and phony. Especially that “no sex on the honeymoon” and “only had sex once a year, on Valentine’s Day” nonsense. Now I’m starting to believe her Ex is just some pathetic dude with sexual impotence issues, and Teri NEVER slept with her ex-husband. It also explains why her Ex never supported the family financially and was "never there" in their marriage.

I could swear Teri was with Dean on Valentine’s Day, 1997. Apparently those two got carried away and ended up with the child. I just don’t understand why they decided Dean shouldn’t claim his firstborn and that their daughter shouldn’t grow up with her REAL father. Dean has such amazing parenting instincts (though turning a bit gaga now that he’s old). Anyway, this whole thing is just so sad and so unfair to the girl.
