Judd Hirsch Set for Arc on "Doc" at 91; Fox Drama Raises Stakes with Life & Death 2-Part S2 Finale

Fox‘s medical drama "Doc" is taking a page out of "Grey’s Anatomy‘s" playbook with a two-hour Season 2 finale featuring a cataclysmic event that leaves major characters’ lives hanging in the balance.

The two back-to-back episodes, “Stuck/Happy Birthday”, also will feature Emmy-winning veteran actor Judd Hirsch who, at the age of 91, is returning to television after a three-year break.



In the two-parter, which airs April 14 (8PM – 10 PM), the series’ central character, Amy (Molly Parker) will risk her life for one of the series’ main villains, Richard (Scott Wolf), who had killed a patient, tried to cover it up and blamed it on Amy, almost ending her career. After he finally got caught, he used a legal loophole to get himself reinstated at Westside Hospital.

In the finale, a mysterious, fast-acting and extremely deadly virus triggers an emergency lockdown on the 6th floor of Westside Hospital. Then, in an effort to save a crashing Richard (Wolf) from a deadly virus, Amy (Parker) gets infected with it. Amy’s ex-husband Michael (Omar Metwally) and the team work tirelessly to help her and the other patients but their experimental treatments fail and Amy becomes critically ill.



Hirsch will play Herman Zweig, a Holocaust survivor with an infectious zest for life and comes to Westside on the day of his 90th birthday for routine treatment… but when tragedy strikes and the hospital suddenly goes on lockdown, his optimism will be put to the test.
