At our local bingo hall, seat saving is a taboo issue. People save seats with bingo dabbers and they are not supposed to. This one lady saves a bunch of tables, but if someone took her spot, she would be madder than a hornet. The people that run the bingo hall never say anything to her because they are afraid of her. I went to another bingo game recently and this one lady got mad because I took her seat. I didnt know it was her seat because it wasnt even saved. I just want to know if this happens anywhere else with other people.

Well, I don't play bingo, but I hear what you're saying. For New Year's Eve '99 (the "Millennium"
), I went to a party at a hotel. My husband and I were sitting at this table and this couple asked us to save their seats for them. We said okay, and they left. About two hours later, these other people want to sit there. We went ahead and let them, because... well, it had been two hours! So then the other couple gets back MUCH later and is mad because we didn't save their seats! Geez! I thought saving seats was for elementary, junior high and high school!Andrea |

this reminds me of my high school reunion. I attended alone and I went to a table to sit . One gal said, Oh sorry, that seat is saved for Nora's husband. so I moved to another table and asked another gal, if I could sit there. No that seat is saved for Patty. Discourage I was, so sat alone at a empty table. Finally a guy saw me alone and said come and sit at my table.
You talk about being NOT wanted the 1st and 2nd times , but that's the way people are these days. As for reunions, have never gone back. 50 Years will be coming up soon. As for the bingo, you want to say, Well till Betty gets here, I'm taking the seat. When she gets here, I will move. What no one seemed to want to say is. Sure we would love to have you, pull up a chair from the corner and we will squeeze you in. People in general find it is easier to push people away than to make feel you wanted. |
