Wally gets a weekend job at Mr. Gibson's drugstore food counter. A group of vocal Wally-Cleaver-fan girls stop by, as do Eddie and Lumpy. The girls loudly discuss their upcoming-tonight pajama party. Eddie offers to stop by and give them a break, to which one of the girls replies that Mr. Rogers will throw him out.
Jealous of the attention the girls are giving Wally, Eddie and Lumpy plot a joke in revenge. Eddie, voice disguised as Mr. Rogers, calls Mr. Gibson and orders ice cream for the girls' pajama party, asking that Wally deliver it as he lives close by. Of course, Mr. Rogers summarily throws Wally out, ice cream and all. Wally loses his cool, and exacts revenge by going to Lumpy's, then Eddie's, house and dumping the melted ice cream on them. Later, Ward expresses concern about Wally's temper, and Wally tells Ward he feels guilty about doing it. What did everyone think about this episode? |

The scene where a very understandably angry Wally dumps a container of pistachio ice cream all over the top of Lumpy’s head and then pours another container of ice cream inside of and all over Eddie’s v-neck sweater is one of LITB’s funniest scenes, in my opinion.
And, I thought that Ward was being way too much of an Alan Alda-like, goody-two-shoes, when he later advised Wally to try and control his temper when he was provoked by his friends. Come on, Ward, as Daniel Simpson “D-Day” Day advised Kent “Flounder” Dorfman in the comedy classic, “Animal House,” when “D-Day” declared, “Don’t get mad, get even!” PS Another great comedic scene on LITB was when Beaver came down the stairs, sporting a “jelly-roll hairstyle” much to June’s shock and disbelief! Do you have any other favorite classic comedic moments on LITB? |

The accordion tumbling down the stairs in "Beaver's Accordion." Larry's suitcase traveling up a rope to the second story window in "Larry Hides Out."

Yes, Larry had some extremely funny scenes on LITB; I liked when Larry tossed some of his mother’s loose change out of the living room window and out onto the front lawn, and then told Beaver that that change was “found money,” enabling the two boys to go to the circus. Another great Larry moment was when after Miss Landers left the classroom briefly, the wily Larry got up on a chair and moved the classroom clock ahead 15 minutes, so that all the kids could all out of class that much earlier. (Alas, it didn’t work as Larry got caught and was punished for his bold and audacious act.) |

I'm just scanning down the list I made on IMDb of my favorite LITB episodes and noting my favorite comedic moments. Larry and Beaver playing hooky and ending up on a local TV show was pretty unforgettable. "In the Soup" ranks high in classic comedy moments. Beaver telling tall tales about June in front of the class as part of his Mother's Day composition. Larry and Beaver forging Ward's baseball with mixed-up names of famous players, and Fred's reaction to this.
I thought Wally's conversation with Miss Landers in "Teacher Comes to Dinner" was very funny. ("Did you know Andrew Johnson was the only president to be impeached?") |

Another memorable moment for Larry in that season was when he was trying to convince a blindfolded Beaver there were club members in his empty basement. Funny scene. |
