On One Day at a time , Julie's fiance comes over in a cab. The cab driver comes into the apt first to collect his fare and everyone assumes he's Julie's fiance .

On Alice, same thing happens with Mel's Mother when she is about to get married and introduce her fiance. The cab driver comes into the diner to get his money and everyone thinks he is Mel's Mother's fiance.
