Production No 16180 - "Beaver's Prep School"
Aunt Martha wants Beaver to go to a Bronson family favorite prep school, Fallbrook. Beaver likes the idea, until he finds out all his buddies are going to Mayfield High. He finds out it's a plane ride away, and tours his old Mayfield haunts. He's homesick while he's still home. Aunt Martha visits, and Beaver must tell her he doesn't want to go there. He keeps the Fallbrook beanie, and Aunt Martha tells him he he may a son someday who wants to go there. Production No 16181 - "Wally and the Fraternity" Wally wants to attend college at State, and he appreciates Ward's efforts to help him and Eddie get into his old fraternity, Alpha Kappa. Then they run into an old school friend who tells them the fraternity is a "pig house." Eddie writes his own letter countering Ward's letter, but later he and Wally run into a star athlete, Ted, who is a member of Alpha Kappa, and he sets the record straight. Eddie apologizes to Ward, who writes another letter to explain what Eddie wrote in his letter. Production No 16182 - "The Book Report" Beaver has an assignment to do a book report on "The Three Musketeers," and he's running out of time to read it. Gilbert urges him to watch the movie on TV, since time is running out. Beaver ends up writing his report from the movie, and faces the wrath of Mrs. Rayburn after he reads it out loud--the movie didn't match the book. Production No 16183 - "The Poor Loser" Ward has two tickets to a big baseball game--Beaver has plans, so Ward decides to take Wally. Beaver finds out it's going to be a great game and asks Wad to get another ticket, but the game is a sellout. Gilbert convinces Beaver that Wally gets all the breaks, so he sulks, causing Wally to try child psychology on him. This backfires on Wally, and Beaver ends up going to the game. His conscience catches up with him, so he has a miserable time. By the way, who wears a jacket and tie to a baseball game? |

I never understood what "pig house" meant in connection with the fraternity.

That's the phrase the first guy used, but subsequent dialog used "pig outfit." The worst house on the campus would have made more sense.

It sounds like college slang, but does it mean that the club members are slobs, or what?

"the fraternity is a "pig house."
I googled this and nothing comes up but the episode, so it must be something specific to LITB. |
