Bill Idelson played a doctor (PhD) on Happy Days and a lawyer (judge) on The Odd Couple. He also wrote episodes of both shows. Jerry Paris directed the great majority of Happy Days episodes, and about 20 episodes of The Odd Couple. They both had worked with Garry Marshall on The Dick van Dyke Show.
