Like I said, everybody is different. They were all pretty, man. There were some men that loved Erika Alexander's character Maxine. They loved the way her legs looked in high heeled shoes. Queen Latifah had a sensual thing about her which is really working to her advantage now. Kim Fields has always been cute and pretty. I loved when Regine would go crazy with the wigs every two seconds. LOL. Synclaire had flavor too so I can't deny that.

For overall ranking on looks and beauty....I will take the fifth as it is possible that I may wind up working with anyone of these four people someday. That always seems to happen.

That is such a classic piece of 90s TV history! You are 100% right—watching that episode "Mystery Date" (Season 1, Episode 19) in syndication today feels like a fever dream because the context of the 1-800 number is completely gone.

Here is why that episode was so unique for its time:

The Interactive Gimmick: In February 1994, Fox ran a massive promotion where Overton (John Henton) appeared in a tuxedo during commercial breaks, asking viewers to call in and vote for which lady the "fine new neighbor," Hamilton Brown (played by a peak-fame Morris Chestnut), should take out.

The "Rigged" Result: Fans overwhelmingly chose Khadijah, but the show rewarded them by making the date a total disaster. Hamilton turned out to be incredibly boring and—worst of all—cheap.

The Fourth Wall Break: When Khadijah looks directly into the camera and says, "You did this to me," she was literally blaming the millions of fans who paid for that phone call to set her up with a man who counted every penny of the dinner bill.

It was one of the first times a sitcom used real-time audience participation to influence a plot, but for a new viewer today, it just looks like Khadijah has suddenly developed a psychic connection with her roommates or has simply lost her mind!

Viewers wouldnt have to worry about it if it aired on Pluto because they would definitely cut of the scene with Khadijah saying "you did this to me"

lol
