by Glenn Garner January 15, 2026 After "High Potential" showrunner Todd Harthan teased some “exciting guest stars” to come, Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us) has joined Season 2 of the ABC light procedural. She will recur as “a woman from Karadec’s (Daniel Sunjata) past” who would first appear in the Jan. 27 episode. Could she be playing the detective’s ex-fiancée Lucia, who he revealed in Season 1 had left him because he was married to his job? Watson’s character is described “wry, open-hearted, and independent. Always chasing what’s next, not out of recklessness, but out of a real appetite for life.
