I saw this in my YouTube subscriptions this morning. This episode is from a Ha! TV Comedy Network airing. I wonder if they aired the other four episodes.
Video description: ROB wanted 13 episodes, ABC only promised him 5. ROB played 2 roles - the elder JOSEPH BRESNER, a Lithuanian immigrant with flashbacks of his early life and love. This episode was titled "ANNA'S ARRIVAL." Co-starring Judy Kahan, Joe Pantoliano, Larry Gelman and Renee Lippin. ROB REINER in "FREE COUNTRY" - an ABC sitcom from Summer 1978. |

As for Free Country, I tried to watch the video but bailed pretty quickly. It felt more like a staged play (with a laugh track) rather then a sitcom. |

I watched it. I can see why it didn't last. It was more of a comedy/drama than a traditional sitcom. There weren't many laughs in this particular episode.
Apparently it was a passion project for Rob Reiner. He was ready to leave All in the Family to try something new. |
