The thread's out of control and TJ will probably want to close it.

Politics is nasty on both sides, with celebrations on recent deaths not exclusive to Rob Reiner--and that's really gross no matter who it is.

You’re acting as though being against the death penalty is something to be ashamed of. It’s not, and I say that as someone who’s for the death penalty for murder in the absence of reasonable doubt.

I’m not sure where you’re getting “how he’d react if it were someone else and he’d want Nick released asap.” Seems you pulled that directly out of your ass. Just because someone is against the death penalty doesn’t mean they’re against consequences, up to and including lifetime incarceration.

I agree, and I said the same about people who were celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder.

So did Rob Reiner.

How Rob Reiner would or wouldn't react is off the topic of this thread. It was never intended to turn into a discussion/debate over the man's politics.

No. Definitely not you.

You are being hateful and showing extreme disrespect to a man who was just brutally murdered.

Yes. I agree. This is a memorial thread, it was not meant to turn hateful and political.

Yes, and that was well publicized, and laudatory.

I don’t think that’s the answer. Don’t we need a place to remember him and reminisce? Although the thread title could become something less gruesome, more memorial-like.

Just remember though, any new thread could just as easy be invaded.

I am not saying RR was a bad person - and I am not saying he wasn’t - but imagine every conversation with him always turning political like you are all getting annoyed on this thread. HE turned everything political and had a severe mental illness RE: Presidents. Nixon I can easily see, however. But, even some of his liberal friends were saying that he was getting out of control. TDS is a very real thing and he suffered from it.

Now, back on the topic at hand, I have never done a drug in my life, so I don’t know what it means to be addicted, but the overkill on the bodies raises a massive question. That was pure rage and that rage has to have come from somewhere. Also, why was Billy Crystal and others at the crime scene before the police? Could they have been along things out of the house that might incriminate Reiner? Even being there contaminated the crime scene.

I guess the next couple of weeks will be interesting……

I'm sure no one would object if you changed it to something more memorial-like.
