Did Nickelodeon think The-N would become successful for teens?

When The-N "Now TeenNick" was launched in the 2000's I think Nickelodeon had desperately wanted to create a network that appealed to the 13-17 year old audience as a teen version of Nickelodeon while Nickelodeon appealed to the 7-12 year old audience. And seeing how NBC had success with the TNBC block Nickelodeon decided to copy them because teen oriented cable networks were not created yet and so Nickelodeon created the first teen oriented cable network in history. And when The-N was launched fortune had smiled on them. Because The-N not only had sitcoms and dramas it also dealt with specials geared to teens and it was a winner for Nickelodeon. But when it became TeenNick I think it all went downhill because they focused on sitcoms and reruns of Full House Moesha and Saved By The Bell and their only successful show was Degrassi and The-N tried to do original sitcoms like Instant Star but failed but they were strong in original drama shows like South Of Nowhere. But when Nick Cannon became president TeenNick got ruined and I think had The-N not changed it's name it could've been better with more original shows and sitcoms and music video shows that attracted the older teen audience of 13-17 and a more interesting format would've worked well for The-N
