Default In the Father of the Year episode, what does Mr. Brady say when....

In the Father of the Year episode, what does Mr. Brady say when he arrives to find the local TV film crew in his living room? To me, it sounds like one of the following:

"What the devil is going on here?"

"What the Sam Hill is going on here?"

"What the hell is going on here?"

For years, I've often wondered...

I think it’s “What the devil is going on here?"

Here it is for easy listening and double checking. About a minute into the video

I think devil. It sounds like hell, but not in 1969 - 70 , would never say hell on a family TV show back than.

Nope. He’d much rather invoke Satan.

Yes, that makes perfect sense...they would not have allowed the use of the work "hell" on a family sitcom back then. Part of me thought something may have gotten past the censors, but now that I've listened to it a few times, it sounds like "devil".

Thank you for the quick replies, Opus and BonnieGirl. I realize I could've looked this up myself, but I am blind and use speech-reading software that makes it difficult to navigate pages (like this one, for instance.) The software doesn't always behave! It took me forever to post this thread and this reply. LOL!

I've been listening to The Brady Bunch DVDs for the past couple of weeks. I grew up with TBB and had some vision back then. So, I do recall quite a bit. I knew someone here would know the answer to my question. Thanks, again!

They had to censor Robert Reed in the episode Sgt Emma. At the very end when Alice is blowing the whistle waking up the family Mike Brady is on the top of the steps and says the F word. You can hear the gap in sound. They censored him instead of making him do the line over.

He says: Alice...its 6 o'clock in the f****** morning. Small clue into the tensions on the set.
