How did Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom become so popular? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I never figured out what made Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom very popular? Was it because animal shows were huge at the time or did people like the show because of it's educational value? Why I think Mutual Of Omaha put it's name on the show as a sponsor was to attract more people to Mutual Of Omaha and by creating an animal show seemed like a smart way to promote themselves. I also can't figure out why METV and WEST both air reruns of this show because it seems odd how this show fits in with sitcom and western channels. But I did see part of an episode of this show this morning and I loved this episode because it featured hawks and falcons and I feel that Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom should be rebooted this time for Animal Planet and Discovery Channel because this show is a classic and a reboot would be just the ticket to watch for a new generation of fans

The reason why I think Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom became a huge hit in my eyes was simply because Mutual Of Omaha wanted to sponsor their name on a show to help market Mutual Of Omaha. But what is shocking about this show is that you never saw Mutual Of Omaha commercials during commercial breaks of Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom especially since they were the sponsor of the show. But this show would pave the way for animal based shows such as PBS's Nature to become popular. As I mentioned earlier Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom should be rebooted for TV again because people do love animal shows

Have they ever thought of rebooting Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom for a new generation of fans? Because if they were to do it it would become popular again

I think that Marlin Perkins that you could trust what he said. People trusted what he had to say about animals, and about insurance, too.
