I Love Lucy Episode Synopsis (w/images): “The Benefit” & “The Amateur Hour”:

“The Benefit”:

Episode #14 (syndicated episode #13)
DVD: On the I Love Lucy Season 1, Volume 4 DVD, it is attached to episodes #13-16 along with bonus features like flubs, series original opening, guest cast information, behind the scenes featurette, My Favorite Husband episode “Valentine’s Day.” On all the other standard definition Season 1 DVD Box sets, it is Attached to episodes 13-18 of the show & the rest are the same except for an additional My Favorite Husband episode entitled “Liz Has The Filmjabs.” On the Blu Ray set, it is attached to the episodes #11-16 along with the bonus features like flubs. In the early 1950s, this episode was attached in the middle of later episodes “Breaking The Lease” & “The Benefit.” It was put as the middle episode. Rare scenes were made and inserted between episodes and other rare scenes were inserted in the beginning of the first episode and the end of the last episode to make the I Love Lucy Movie. The movie wasn’t cancelled because it was believed that people wouldn’t want to see it because of the real I Love Lucy show. It was finally shown in 2001 and released onto DVD in 2007 with a colorized version of “Lucy Goes To Scotland”, Lucy and Desi making their first joint appearance on the Ed Wynn Show, a clip of I Love Lucy at the Sixth Annual Emmy Awards and on set as from the series premiere.

Note: For a long time, I always assumed that the twin boys were really identical twins and were brothers since they look so much alike. Turns out, I was wrong. Also, it’s scary how in the storyline, they were going to burn Lucy at the stake and probably kill her. They should have gotten into more serious trouble than their Mom yelling at them.
