Default Card Sharks "2001 Version"

After an absence after being cancelled Card Sharks returned in 2001 with a whole new look and new gameplay exclusive to this version of Card Sharks. Hosted by Pat Bullard and featured a girl named Tammy Anderson as the dealer this revival of Card Sharks is considered to be the most underrated version of Card Sharks and the reason it was cancelled was because people thought it was a weak version of a game show classic and if you worked at GSN would it be possible to make a brand new version of Card Sharks exclusive to GSN in the future?
Did anyone like the 2001 version of Card Sharks?

I felt FremantleMedia ruined one of the best gambling games of all-time by eliminating the survey questions, which to me was the best part of the show and substituting Street Smarts like elements when a contestant decided to change a card. The Perry and Eubanks versions were really good since they involved the home viewer and the 2001 version with Pat Bullard hosting was just plain awful and didn't last more than 13 weeks.

Sadly, I have nothing but vague memories of the first-run syndicated revival of Card Sharks which debuted in the autumn of 2001 (emceed by Pat Bullard); if memory serves, the show was heavily preempted in the few markets that actually aired it because of the September 11th terrorist attacks...in fact, Card Sharks '01 devoted an entire week to a special run of episodes featuring firefighters and police officers playing for charity.

Everything about this show was terrible. Pat Bullard seemed so full of himself. One episode a player at the money cards bet a decent amount of money that the next card would be higher than a Jack, and Bullard just casually said "For $x higher than a Jack..." Eubanks and most especially Perry would have said "You're going HIGHER on a Jack?!?!?" but not Bullard who couldn't give a tinker's damn. Front game money was not won, rather it was split into 3 levels of $700 with the Money Cards round, so a player could end up winning $0 for an episode. The set was very amateurish at best. The lack of survey toss up questions was dreadful. The biggest wart on this show was how one player could call 5 cards right, miss the sixth one, and the other player could swoop in and win with just one call. This show was, is, and forever shall be Dreck, plain and simple.

how to make Card Sharks 2001 Better:

1.Have the Alan Ett Group compose a modern cover of the '78 theme.
2.Have Burton Richardson or Rich Fields as announcer.
3.The money won in the main game by all contestants is theirs to keep, regardless of what happens.
4.Prize cards, like in the Rafferty version.
5.New money given to players to start Money Cards: $500 on bottom row, $1,000 in middle row for a maximum of $80,000 in the Money Cards.
6.After Money Cards, seven cards, one of them has the word "CAR", contestant finds it with a joker, he or she wins a new car. Contestants get one free joker for making it to the Money Cards, three additional jokers are added into the Money Cards deck.
7. Hiring Nipsey Russell or David Ruprecht as host.
8. Follow the 1978-1981/1986-1989 format.
