1983 CBS Saturday Morning Cartoons

Relive the 1983 Saturday morning fall line up with moments from the Sneak Peek special that year with Scott Baio, James Best, and Sorrell Booke. Remember the Saturday morning shows and cartoon line-up that year starting with Captain Kangaroo, the Biskitts, Saturday Supercade, Dungeons and Dragons, the Dukes, Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show, Benji, Zax, and the Alien Prince, and Fat Albert.

In 1983, Captain Kangaroo played by Bob Keeshan was nearing the end of it's very long run. The show featured favorites like Mr. Moose, Mr. Green Jeans, and the ping pong ball drop. Next was the new show the Biskitts about a group of tiny dogs. Saturday Supercade featured the most popular video game characters of the 80s Donkey Kong, his son Donkey Kong Jr, Frogger, and Q Bert.

After that it was Dungeons and Dragons an exciting adventure cartoon series about kids trapped in a world of wizards and monsters, it featured the voices of Happy Days' Don Most and Eight is Enough star, Willie Aames, and the Transformers' Peter Cullen as Venger. Each hero had their own magic weapon including a bow, shield, invisibility cloak, magic hat, club and acrobatic stick.

The Dukes cartoon was in it's second season and it featured the return of Bo and Luke voiced by John Schneider and Tom Wopat along with Boss and Rosco voiced by Sorrell Booke and James Best.

After the Dukes, it was the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show featuring everybody's favorite dog, Snoopy. Then, it was the famous movie dog Benji making his Saturday morning debut with the series, Benji, Zax and the Alien Prince. Benji had a great career leading up this show, with a movie series, and the original Benji dog was a regular part of the classic TV series Petticoat Junction.

Finally, the morning was finished with Bugs Bunny followed by the long running Fat Albert show.
