Confused Chrissy and the Guru

Its been reported that John Ritter's least favorite episode was Chrissy and the Guru. Why do you think so? Its not one of my favorites but its far from the worst episode IMHO. I think its odd Ritter had no issue with Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow or A Night Not To Remember where Jack turns into a mean drunk which are far worse episodes especially for his character.
This episode is a timestamp of the 1970s when these cults lurked around California. Its really creepy that it aired just weeks before the Jonestown massacre. Jim Jones's cult fled California for Jonestown when police started investigating.
Chrissy was always very naive and I could see her falling into some cult. But in the end she outsmarts everyone.

Yeah, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veuGK9QRvG8&t=290s.
I don't pay attention to these "facts" that have no strong source. "This guy said that this guy said" doesn't sound solid to me. Anybody can do that.

Now, let's play a game. How many posts before this thread goes off topic and turns into "The episode I hated the most was..."? My vote is 3!

The episode I hated most was Jack’s Navy Pal.

Ha! Only 2!

No one is forcing you to participate in a thread you don't like. The video you post the link to is only rehashing what was already revealed decades ago. John was not fond of the episode. Who cares. Just wanted to get everyone else's thoughts about it.
For the record, John was not happy with the bar scene in the episode. Please let us that grew up with Threes Company discuss Threes Company.

Why are you taking this personally? I was just stating my opinion, no attack intended. Sorry if you took it that way.

Excellent point about the Jonestown massacre.

I actually never heard about this massacre growing up. I only heard about this a few years back on Scariest People on HLN. Jim Jones is not as big of a name as Ted Bundy (who everyone has heard of).

The episode itself in one I don't care for. The guru comes back 2 years later telling Janet she has what it takes to make it as a dancer.

It really is a time stamp of the mid to late 70s with cults in CA so I can understand why the writers went there. Shows like Barnaby Jones during the same era had episodes of them too. The Jonestown Massacre woke everybody up.

I was rushed when I last posted. I later remember it was actually a mass suicide of over 900 people, including children.

I can understand a show like Barnaby Jones doing an episode, but not TC.
The Guru episode is so boring, I skip it.

The one thing about the Guru episode that makes me think is when Jack says that you hear about these cults on TV. Then wouldn't Janet & Chrissy heard about them as well?

Here's some fun trivia the guy who played the Guru is actor Michael Bell who was also in season 6 "Some Of That Jazz" as the sleazy dance instructor putting the moves on Janet.

And not to go off topic but Michael Bell was also a very notable voice actor in the 70's, 80's and 90's on cartoons and video games.

And he married Victoria Carroll who played the fitness instructor in Janet Shapes Up. She also played Mel's girlfriend on Alice.
