Question Was there going to be a spinoff...

with Reed?
I am watching the last season, and they have changed his looks a lot. I am just wondering.

Not that I know of -- but years later, Jack Webb was planning to do a new Dragnet series, and Kent McCord potentially would've been one of the stars -- still as Reed, but "promoted" to detective:

"Despite his string of short-lived series in the late 1970s, Webb still kept trying to recapture his previous success and decided to bring Dragnet back to television for a third series in 1982. Departing from the original format (with Harry Morgan tied up with his commitments to M*A*S*H, and its already greenlit followup AfterMASH), Webb decided he would not appear in the series as Sgt. Joe Friday (other than in voice over), and approached former Adam-12 stars Martin Milner and Kent McCord (who had several guest appearances early in the 1967 revival series) to reprise their roles as now-detectives Malloy and Reed in the updated Dragnet series.[29] Days after speaking with McCord about the project, on December 23, 1982, Webb died unexpectedly from a heart attack and the Dragnet revival was scrapped."

You're welcome. Kent McCord had quite a few appearances on The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet in the 1960s, as one of Ricky's fraternity brothers, so fans of the "handsome hunk" will find him there. It's a shame that Webb passed away, a new Dragnet series could've been an extremely big thing for McCord's career.

Did you have a preference for the look of Jim Reed / Kent M.? Hair length? Also, Martin Milner (Pete Malloy) has been described as "boyishly handsome."

Here is a video of Kent's ozzie and harriet.

I think its interesting that adam-12 and emergency used the same pairing up of young good-looking pups with older not as good-looking steady eddies. Both matched the brunette/blonde.

I tend to go for darker hair.
I would have liked to see Kent play in another series. Martin too.

"Kent McCord appeared in "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" as Rick Nelson's fraternity brother, marking his first on-screen speaking role in 1962. He made a total of 44 appearances on the show during its run"

Such a natural good-looking guy. Nothing fake. Nice teeth.

More modern video of Kent.
