Default Everybody Loves Raymond joining MeTV October 13

Everybody Loves Raymond is coming to MeTV October 13 and will show two episodes weeknights at 9 PM Eastern and two episodes Sunday nights at 10 PM Eastern. I just wish it could have replaced MASH or Hogan’s Heroes.

Is that now the youngest show on ME? Are there complaints like with Hot In Cleveland on Catchy?

There is a 14 year difference between them. Everybody Loves Raymond started in 1996, around half of its run a 20th century show, while Hot in Cleveland didn't start until 2010. MeTV already airs at least one show that is primarily 90s with "E/I" Saved by the Bell.

Also this show ended its run 20 years ago. For those of you who say it’s too new, when N&N launched in 1985, it showed shows that extended beyond 1965.

Just saying.

E/I stands for “educational/informational. Which of those is Saved By The Bell?

Looks like the beginning of the end for MeTV. Reminds me of the original era of Nick at Nite and MTV. Started off great and then they decided to start changing the classics with new shows that nobody likes. I can forgive Monk from a few years back because thematically it went well with Columbo on the channel. But this? Its getting bleak.

Dish gives me MeTV Main, Story Television, H&I, Start TV and WEST. But not Catchy Comedy or MeTV Plus. The latter two being the most important channels right now. We have plenty of modern sitcoms/action channels and Westerns but no real channel devoted to classic comedy and action, which was what MeTV Main use to be. Its a deliberate move by Weigel broadcasting.

Yeah I noticed over on Catchy Comedy they put a new show Hot in Cleveland at the 9pm hour as well. Must be struggling at that timeslot.

People LIKE Raymond. Nope scratch that. They LOVE this show. Hehehe!

Like I said, when Nick at Nite launched in 1985, they showed shows that extended beyond what was then 20 years ago. This was their launch schedule according to AI (it’s not 100% accurate as the channel aired Dennis The Menace which aired from 1959-1963)

8:00 PM: My Three Sons aired from 1960-1972 (not sure if they aired the later episodes during their early years)
8:30 PM: The Donna Reed Show aired from 1958-1966 (including episodes that were lost and didn’t see the light of day until MPI home video released them a few years back
9:00 PM: Nick at Nite Movie
11:00 PM: Turkey Television
12:00 AM (Midnight): Route 66 aired from 1960-1964
1:00 AM: My Three Sons (R)
1:30 AM: The Donna Reed Show (R)
2:00 AM: Nick at Nite Movie
4:00 AM: Turkey Television (R)
5:00 AM: Route 66 (R)

Everybody Loves Raymond ENDED 20 years ago.

Just saying.

Neither, yet it is legally considered E/I, has been for awhile. If just ok Saved by the Bell gets to be E/I, so should other high school set shows like Head of the Class and Room 222 (never seen the 2nd one).

Looking at old Me TV Schedules before they went national they aired Roseanne & The Cosby Show.

I do wish ATLEAST Catchy Comedy on Saturday Nights Primetime slots and LateNigts will give us what NICK at NITE offered during its golden days like My Three Sons & Donna Reed & and others.

Between antenna tv Fe TV and other over the air digital channels and Sister Networks to Me TV syndication shows are limited.

I thought the reason Me TV is around to air shows TVLAND no longer airs. They still air Everybody Loves Raymond?

Are there more schedule changes coming to Me TV in October 2025?

Although I personally wouldn’t mind seeing “Room 222” again, without any recollection of any memorable scene(s) from it, I have a feeling that the show will be wayyyy too dated, and that the viewers would just laugh at how campy it is in 2025.

I say if a classic TV station wanted to have an E/I show set in a school, how about showing something from back even further: “Mr. Novak”! It’s an hour long; so just 2 eps a week will do. AND, “E/I” would mean that it’s more of a history lesson than anything else.

If “Our Miss Brooks” wasn’t a screwball sitcom, we could throw THAT on the E/I train 🚂…..

Room 222 is very specific to its time--very dated. I wouldn't mind seeing it again but not at the prices of the DVDs that are available for a couple of the seasons.

I agree with icecream that SBTB (which MeTV has dropped, by the way) is neither E nor I but some bean counter says it is. To me ii's just plain awful right down to its horrible theme.

ELR is an old sitcom by now, as FG says. It started in 1996, nearly 30 years ago. Two of its stars have passed, Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts--also one of its at-the-time kids has died via suicide. At least five of the recurring actors have also passed by now.

There are 9 seasons of episodes, enough to expand to two hours if the ratings are really good. Meaning, I can hope, they might dump Hogan.
