Wait, what? They were in a band together?!

So I thought I'd start a thread about people who at one time were bandmates. But it's more about surprising or unexpected bandmates, as in people you wouldn't ever expect had been in a band together. And I've got a couple to start things off. I'd also like to include famous celebrities/musicians that were in bands in their pre-fame days.

After the all female rock band The Go-Go's broke up in the mid 80s, former Go Go's' drummer Gina Schock formed her own band in which she was the lead singer, House Of Schock. And one of her fellow bandmates in House Of Schock was Vance Degeneres the brother of now disgraced comedian and talk show host Ellen Degeneres! I've known about House Of Schock but I wasn't aware until recently that Vance Degeneres was a member of the group. I haven't been able to find out what instrument he played, but Degeneres wrote or cowrote several of the band's songs, but I believe they released only 2 albums before breaking up.

This next one is probably pretty well known but still interesting. And it's a pre-fame one for all the people concerned. In the mid 60s when he was in college, comedian and actor Chevy Chase was the drummer in a band and 2 of the other band members were Walter Becker and Donald Fagen who would go on to form Steely Dan in the early 1970s.

So what other musicians, singers, or celebrities can you think of who were surprising or unexpected members of a band with other famous people?

I'm not sure if this counts but Sheryl Crow was a backup singer who toured with Michael Jackson.

Yeah that'll work, LOL. I also know she was a backup singer on a couple of Belinda Carlisle's early solo albums after The Go-Go's disbanded.

I've never been able find out what the band's name was, but I've read that famed guitarist and singer Jimi Hendrix and Neil Young, who'd go on to be a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young were briefly in a band together in the mid 60s! Does anybody else happen to know the name of the band?
