Default Anyone Remember THESE 90's Sitcoms?

I didn't see any main posts for these shows in the 90's sitcom board, but I liked all of them, and wanted to know if anyone remembered them:

South Central (FOX sitcom, circa 1994, with Larenz Tate)
Bob (CBS sitcom with Bob Newhart set in a comic book factory, from Cheers writers, circa 1992)
Five Mrs. Buchanans (Harriet Sansom Harris, Charlotte Ross, etc, CBS, 1995)
Working it Out (Jane Curtin/Stephen Collins, NBC, circa 1990-91)
The Powers That Be (Holland Taylor, John Forsythe, David Hyde Pierce, NBC sitcom about the first family, early-mid 90's)

All of these shows were really funny, and I have great memories of them, but I wonder if we'll ever see them again)

I definitely remember South Central. It's one of my most wanted shows on dvd, probably won't happen. But it was a pretty good show, I was upset FOX didn't hold on to it.

Wasn't Bob just a rehash of the earlier Bob Newhart shows?

That was a completely different show and could have been a classic but CBS fired most of the cast for year 2 and it completely ruined it.

I loved "Powers That Be"... I taped quite a few episodes and it was hilarious, even now! I loved the first lady.

I loved "Bob". I used to watch it every week with my Dad. Then N@N had a Bob, Bob Newhart, Newhart marathon, including episodes of "Bob." Around that time, TV Land had a marathon featuring every episode of the show. I taped them all, but the tapes have since been destroyed.

I agree that the revamp didn't make the show better. I remember Betty White was in the second season, though. I believe the show had 34 episodes.

I only remember BOB. TV critics Tim Brooks & Earle Marsh (THE COMPLETE
DIRECTORY TO PRIME TIME NETWORK & CABLE TV SHOWS) nailed the problem:
"Part of the problem may have been the changed nature of [Newhart's]
character. In previous incarnations Bob's character had always been lovable
and understanding of the foibles of others. In BOB he had a temper, railed
about the shortcomings and faults of his co-workers and friends, and even
threatened to microwave Otto, the family cat. This was not the same "Mr.
Nice Guy" that viewers had loved for more than twenty years."

By the way, does anyone remember Bob Newhart's next (also short-lived)
sitcom, GEORGE & LEO? Teamed with Judd Hirsch, they were two mismatched
in-laws. George (Newhart) was quiet and introspective; Leo (Hirsch) was
loud and obnoxious. It only lasted one season.

The only one that isn't familiar is South Central. The only show I really watched on FOX back then was Married..with Children. I liked Bob, though. Bob Newhart is one of the greatest. And The Powers That Be I remember watching on Saturday nights, not too bad of a show.

And yeah, George & Leo was a good show that was cancelled too quickly. I bought the Emmy consideration video and all three episodes were good, a lot better than the shows on today.
