Nielsen Ratings for the 1st and very last episode - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Never realized how much of a hit this show was in season 1. Even in last season I still find the all the eps very watchable. Last season show had no shot vs Chips

The show was a replacement for another show that ABC had greenlighted (name escapes me). It took off like a rocket in season 1. Me and my cousin could not wait to watch it. We were young and we laughed at all the fat jokes. It got old sort of fast. When the mother left and Dee grew up the show really jumped the shark and became dumb. There probably would have been a 4th season if the cast was not so crazy with all of their money demands. The stars walking off the set several times and ABC could not deal with their egos and dropping ratings.
