The best episode of The Andy Griffith Show? It's certainly near the top of my top 10. I only wish that the half-hour TV format had allowed a few more minutes to show Andy, Opie, Aunt Bee, and Mr. McBeevee (and Barney too, what the heck) enjoying dinner together. Plus Andy's no doubt abject apology to Opie for not believing him. If only the episodes were a full 30 minutes, they could have included more material. Let's just say TAGS doesn't get any better than this ep.

Karl Swenson also played Eddie Haskell's father in a few early Leave It to Beaver installments.

Great point. I remember thinking about that as a kid watching TV shows.
