Head of the Class - During at least the 1st 2 or 3 seasons there's a lot of footage from New York, NY and bits of Howard Hesseman hitchhiking and mvoing, running, and racing all over New York City to race to make it to the school on time.

The Sopranos - There's plenty of footage of various New Jersey landmarks all while Tony Soprano (James Gandofini) is seen driving around.

Ryan's Hope - Throughout its 13 1/2 year run, Ryan's Hope had at least several openings where the cast is on location out and about all over New York City. Although for the bulk of the 3rd opening with the Starsky and Hutch font for the title logo, the people seen in the opening are basically locals in NYC.

Another show that showed its location in its credits was the 1994-95 CBS drama, Christy, based on Catherine Marshall's best-selling 1967 novel of the same name, and also based on true events. Morgan Gap, TN, was the basis for the fictional Cutter Gap - and the crew originally wanted to film there but the logistics were horrible, so production was moved to the nearby town of Townsend - which is where the entire series was shot. Everything was filmed in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Speaking of Five-O, the new version of Five-O also has their stars shooting on location in the opening credits.

Alex O'Loughlin, like Jack Lord in the original Five-O did also was atop the Ilani Palace Hotel.

Magnum, P.I. also had their stars filming on location in Hawaii.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I think Marlo Thomas filmed the part of her running through Central Park in NYC in the That Girl opening.

I got a new one:

Spenser: For Hire filmed the bulk of their opening credits all over various Boston, MA landmarks.

A Man Called Hawk and or Scarecrow and Mrs. King filmed bits and pieces of their opening credits on location in Washington, D.C.

California Dreams, the TV series, filmed portions of its opening in LA on the beach during season one.

Punky Brewster with Solei Moon Frye and George Gaynes in Chicago

The Cosby Show: Season One was filmed on loaction in New York City.

Double Trouble's theme opening (for season two) was on location in New York City.

Laverne and Shirley? Didn't they film on location in Milwaukee or were those shots mixed in to give the appearance that they were actually there?

Some did say "Rhoda"? Valerie Harper was on location here in NYC.

Melrose Place (Seasons one thru three) There was B roll footage chilling out having a good time in LA.

Beverly Hills 90210 (Seasons 2 and 3) The gang on one of the beaches of LA.

Seeing them on their way to the Wrigley ball field is my favorite part of the opening music. I LOVE Balki/Bronson!!!

God bless you and him always!!!

the final season of "GET SMART" showed shots of various landmarks in Washington D.C. (but not the building that Max parks in front of and walks up the steps. That was a building in Los Angeles)

That BH opening was probably done on a soundstage, with the background chroma keyed in post production.

There's a lot of location shots on NYC in the That Girl opener, but I'd have to look at it again to see if Marlo is actually there.

The opening of Andy Griffith looks like location but it's probably just a back lot.

Not the stars themselves, but I believe John Krasinski shot the Scranton scenery for The Office's intro.

The (New) Odd Couple have Tony Randall/Jack Klugman and Ron Glass/Demond Wilson in various NYC settings. The Tony/Jack intro with the two of them doing a Maypole dance with a group of people was unplanned...apparently the two stumbled upon a festival in the park.

This also fits Welcome Back Kotter. Just substitute Brooklyn for East LA.
