Who do you consider the best host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Since Who Wants To Be A Millionaire started in 1999 on ABC and became a ratings powerhouse in TV with original host Regis Philbin and later debuted a syndicated version in 2002 with Meredith Veira and now with the upcoming season of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire coming soon I would like to know who you consider to be the best host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? My favorite host of Millionaire is Chris Harrison because he has truly breathed new life into the show and I think it's because of him that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has soared in ratings in syndication

Tough one. Probably a tie between Regis and Meredith.

It's also a tough choice. Regis was the host who put the show on the map and put the phrase "Is that your final answer?" into the game show lexicon. Meredith had the longest stint of any female host prior to Jane Lynch on Hollywood Game Knight and after a couple of duds in Cedric the Entertainer and Terry Crews, Millionaire has found the right host in Chris Harrison. He's a very good people person with excellent rapport with the contestants and his experience with The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise helps.

Regis Philbin- which is something because I don't even LIKE him but he's the least unlikable of the group.

Hi, Bestie! Of course #1 is Regis Philbin. Nobody else even comes close. But #2 has to go to Chris Harrison. Chris Harrison has breathed new life into a game show that has suffered from boring hosts. You need a showman in this game show, to build suspense. Chris does that job well. But I know why you think Chris Harrison is #1. Because you have a crush on him. LOL!

I was around 12 when the original version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire debuted on ABC and when I saw Regis Philbin host it I knew that ABC had a winner on their hands when it was announced that Regis Philbin was gonna host it and I think because of Regis's talent the primetime version of Millionaire was successful on ABC and brought ABC huge ratings to TV. The very first time I saw Meredith Veira host the syndicated Millionaire on TV was in a hotel room with my mom and we were curious to see how she would host the show and to our surprise Meredith was awesome and also brought her wonderful sense of humor to the show. I also liked Cedric The Entertainer as host of Millionaire and he was so fun to watch and I was shocked when he left because Cedric was funny and gave the show a fun look. So Cedric The Entertainer is my number two favorite Millionaire host in my mind

Regis. He put the show on the map and I also liked him in Million Dollar Password. Millionaire wasn't as good once they dumped the original three lifelines and made other changes.

Terry Crews and Cedric the Entertainer both only lasted one season between long syndicated runs for Meredith and Chris.
