It's not one of the best or worst nicknames. I would say it's one of the funniest and most unique nicknames. I guess he has kind of embraced it for the fans. His mother doesn't like it.

The Mariners honored Cal Raleigh with a Platinum Dumper bobblehead.

No Big Dumper in the swing off.

I think (not 100% sure, I was watching with the sound off) only players still in the game could be used, so like no Raleigh or Judge for the AL. If so, they need to change that.

So, one that came to mind was Boston Beaneaters (1883-1906), a predecessor of the current Atlanta Braves ("...the oldest continuously operating professional baseball franchise").

One of my favorite nicknames is Boom Boom Geoffrion.

The first boom is for his slapshot, which was so hard that it boomed throughout the arena. The second boom was for it missing the net and hitting the boards because it was so inaccurate.

Big Dumper is taking a bite out of the Big Apple. He's three home runs away from breaking the record for most home runs by a catcher in a season.

He has a new "Big butt... bigger bombs" bat this weekend.
