I mean, much respect to him and the original version from 1956, but at the age of 52, it probably would've been daunting and difficult for him doing the 1972 format since its a much faster paced than the original, if of course had he gotten the gig. He would've been slower revealing the ARP in contestant's row let alone explaining the pricing games and speaking of pricing games, he probably would've tripped over the props (let alone in contestant's row) due to his issue with polio.

Bill Cullen was actually considered for The Price is Right revival but since the show was going to be produced in Hollywood, he was tied to New York, hosting Three on a Match, a regular panelist on To Tell the Truth and doing commercials for the then discount store chain Korvette's, he turned down the show. I do agree that the revamped Price is Right would have been too physical for him to handle.

Again not trying to be rude or disrespectful to Mr. Cullen in anyway, shape or form whatsoever. I'm just saying it would've been way too stressful for him that's all.

Yes he was Dude111, but in regards of Mr. Cullen having physical problems with the many pricing game props, think Holly Hallstrom but a more declining with age male figure with no modeling experience and having a life-threatening, living-on-the-edge type of personality.

The ONLY way it would work with Cullen, would be for a much smaller set, with each game at some kind of podium. Anything to make Bill as comfortable as possible.
Cullen was busy with “Three on a Match,” so he would have to get out of that contract. “The New Price Is Right” was designed to be much more frantic than the original. Bill could not do a lot of standing either, which apparently was required. cd |

Come to think of it cd637299, if Cullen had gotten the gig, I think many of the pricing games would've mostly likely been on the turntable instead of the three doors nor in fron of the studio audience.
